Girl Boss time again!!!
I photographed another amazing female entrepreneur! I am so in love with my #LaJefaSeries! It is separate and different from my weddings and boudoir and so much fun! I think when a girl puts everything into her dream, she should be celebrated! What she has accomplished is something special. She has put blood sweat and tears into what she believes in. It's a beautiful thing!
Meet Melissa!! She is a barbershop owner here in El Paso. She owns La Navaja on the eastside. My husband met her when he was in high school 10 years ago, she would cut his hair when she worked in other shops, and now she has her own shop and cuts our son's and our nephew's hair and several of our friends. She is amazing at what she does, she runs such a fun shop (we love chatting it up when we go), and she is super inspiring in the boss babe world!
Melissa told me when she was younger, she would cut her brother's friends and would jack it up and so they would come back the next week and the next week and she kept getting more and more practice that way. When she started her family, she decided to become a professional barber as a means of a fast career to help support her family but it ended up becoming her passion, something she absolutely loved. She has been in the industry for 16 years now. Next month she will celebrate 5 years since opening her very own shop. She says that her shop is very much like the movie Barbershop, everyone is family and they all love what they do, it's all smiles and happiness, and they pour their passion into their work. She believes in and practices the motto "do what you love, love what you do." She also now has two employees, and Daisha and Myrium are super talented and add so much to the shop's personality as well.
Go get cut by Melissa at her shop La Navaja at 10431 Brian Mooney Spc C.
Last but not least, check out these bomb images from her #LaJefaSeries that she absolutely rocked!!!
